Parker Racor’s new modular LTM Series water desalination and purification system offers flexible installation

The Racor Division of Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has announced the addition of its Village Marine LTM Series to its existing range of water desalination and purification systems. The new units have been specifically designed for use in larger yachts and motor boats and are supplied as ready to mount modules, allowing flexibility of installation and making them especially useful where space is restricted. The Village Marine LTM Series uses the latest reverse osmosis technology to produce high flow rates, providing fresh water independence for ocean crossings, extended voyages or cruising where dock water supplied is unreliable.
The modular construction of the new Village Marine LTM Series, with independent reverse osmosis, pump, AC motor and filtration modules, gives marine engineers the option of positioning components separately into the most appropriate spaces available. Interconnection of the various modules is quick, simple and secure.
The LTM Series is capable of producing flow rates of between 1,900 and 6,800 litres per day and uses innovative and high efficient spiral wound membranes. These effectively remove impurities including salt, minerals and organics, from sea, brackish, fresh and tap water sources. These membranes use the highest grade polyamide thin film composite materials to ensure ultimate integrity and performance, while a sediment pre-filter removes particulates down to 5 micron.
The units are built from high quality corrosion resistant materials capable of withstanding the harsh marine environment. Integral to every unit are a stainless steel pressure regulator and bypass valve, a magnetic drive boost pump, stainless steel glycerine filled pressure gauges, a high pressure plunger pump with stainless steel 316 head and an acrylic flow meter to monitor water production. In addition, the units use lifetime seals to minimise maintenance requirements.
There are five models in the LTM Series depending on the flow rating required. All the units run on AC motors and can operate in various electrical configurations with straightforward manual operation.
